About Rice Equipment

Rice Equipment has been keeping antique tractors running since 1937, when Gordon Rice Sr. opened the doors in Clarion, Pennsylvania, selling and servicing farm equipment for the families who worked the land across western Pennsylvania.

His son, Gordon Rice Jr., grew up in the business and gave it its true calling. He had a deep love for the old International Harvester machines built before the war, the Farmalls and McCormick-Deerings from 1921 to 1939. As parts for those tractors grew scarce, he set out to save the new old stock that no one else bothered to keep. That collection became what Rice Equipment is known for today.

When Gordon Jr. was ready to retire, his son Joe Rice and his nephew Frank Greenawalt took the reins. After Joe passed in 2016, Frank carried the business on his own, always holding to the same standard the Rice family was known for.

When Frank fell ill, he asked two people he trusted to help him keep the doors open: Stewart McKinley, a longtime customer, and Missy Kemmer, who had kept his books for years. After Frank passed in 2023, Stewart and Missy inherited Rice Equipment, and they run it today with the same promise the Rice family always kept: real parts, honest help, and someone on the other end of the phone who knows these machines.
